We’ve already heard several reports about the production version of the Lexus LF-1 Limitless concept, which is reportedly going to be called the Lexus LQ. The new SUV is going to give Lexus a flagship coupe-like crossover that will compete with other rivals, like the Porsche Cayenne Coupe. Now a new report is hinting at what might power the LQ.
Japan’s Best Car is reporting that the Lexus LQ is going to arrive in 2022 and that its dimensions will be pretty close to the Porsche Cayenne Coupe:
- Wheelbase: 117.7 inches
- Length: 197 inches
- Width: 78 inches
- Height: 62.8 inches
If those dimensions are accurate, the Lexus LQ will be close to three inches longer, 3.2 inches lower and have a three inch longer wheelbase.
Now for what will power the LQ, the report claims that the Lexus LW will be available with two turbocharged engines. The non-hybrid version will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8, while the LQ hybrid will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6.
If that hybrid engine is correct, this will mark the first time that Lexus has offered a turbocharged hybrid engine. The new hybrid engine would also replace the current 3.5-liter V6 hybrid that the brand currently offers in the LX and LS hybrids.
