The microchip shortage still hasn’t gone away, which has slowed vehicle production for pretty much every automaker. We’ve been wondering when the 2022 Honda Civic hatchback will officially arrive and it now looks like it will arrive some time in October.

2022 Honda Civic Hatchback

The CivicXI forum has intercepted a letter to dealersfrom Mike Kistemaker, Assistant Vice President Auto Sales at Honda. In the letter he states that production of the 2022 Civic hatchback will kick off in late September, which means that it should start arriving at dealers in October or early November.

The note also calls out the fact that Honda expects its “dealer arrivals to be 40 percent less than planned,” which means that inventory for several of its models will be impacted. Although Honda expects Pilot and Passport inventory to not be hurt as much.

We’re also still waiting for news about the 2022 Honda Civic Si. A recent report claims that we will see it in October, but it’s not known if that timeline has been postponed, due to the microchip shortage.
