GM recently took the wraps off the GMC Hummer EV truck and although it’s slated to arrive next fall, it won’t be available at every GMC dealership. Buick GMC VP Duncan Aldred recently revealed that only about half of GMC’s dealers have agreed to sell the electric truck.

Why have only half of the dealers agreed to sell the Hummer EV? According to Muscle Cars and Trucks, the reason why not every dealer signed on to sell the Hummer EV is because they would need to be upgraded with charging stations and their service centers would new tools and training for the EV.

Some dealers also realize that they would need to upgrade their showrooms to appeal to the buyer that is willing to pay six figures for the Hummer EV. The first version to arrive, the Edition 1 is priced at $112,595. The Hummer EV also will be offered with no-haggle pricing, which is a different buying experience than the rest of GMC’s lineup.

Even if some dealers are not yet on board with the Hummer EV, buyers do seem excited about it, since the Edition 1 sold out in 10 minutes.
