Earlier this month, Ford put out a call on Twitter for help naming a new Mustang Black Accent Package. Now it’s been discovered that Ford recently applied for a trademark for the “Mustang Dark Horse” name with the European Union Intellectual Property Office, which could be the name for the aforementioned package.
The EU application was spotted by a member of the 7th Mustang forums. What we don’t know yet is if this name is only for Europe, since Ford has yet to trademark the name in the U.S. There’s a good chance that the Mustang Dark Horse name is for the blacked out Mustang, since the trademark was filed just weeks after the Twitter posts.
Ford has yet to reveal all the details, but it says that the Black Accent Package adds black pony badges and black wheels.
