It’s been 50 years since BMW Motorsport GmbH was born in 1972. To celebrate the 50 anniversary of BMW’s M division, BMW has unveiled the 2023 M3 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M.
It’s based on the M3 Competition xDrive, the M3 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M will be offered in five iconic paint colors from the past five generations of the M3. Starting with with Cinnabar Red from the E30 M3,. Techno Violet from the E36 M3, and Deep Interlagos Blue from the E46 M3. It also gets Fire Orange III from the E92 M3 and Limerock Grey from the F80 M3 CS on the.
The M3 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M stands out with its matte Orbit Grey forged Style 826M wheels, M Compound brakes with red, blue, or black calipers, or M Carbon Ceramic brakes with gold calipers. Other additions include a carbon fiber front splitter, M quad tailpipes trimmed in carbon fiber and titanium, an M Performance carbon fiber spoiler, and standard carbon fiber roof. It’s topped off with classic BMW Motorsport logos on the hood, trunk, and wheel center caps.
Inside there’s “Edition 50 Jahre BMW M” lettering on the door sills and an aluminum plaque on the cupholder cover. Buyers can choose the standard M Sport seats or the track-ready M Carbon bucket seats, wrapped in Black Extended Merino leather. Tri-color M stripes have been added to the headrests. Lastly it gets a special suitcase.
