Ford never officially confirmed plans to introduce a Bronco pickup truck, but a new report claims that Ford has killed the idea.

Automotive News is reporting that the Bronco pickup has been canceled. A year ago it was speculated that Ford was planning a Bronco pickup to compete with the Jeep Gladiator. The rumor even stated that the Bronco pickup would arrive in 2024. We don’t know why Ford decided to cancel the Bronco pickup, but one of the reasons could be that Ford already has a big truck lineup, which includes the Ranger and smaller Maverick.

A Bronco pickup also goes in a different direction for the brand, which is now focusing its energy on EVs, like the F-150 Lightning. There’s even a rumor that Ford is working on a smaller electric pickup truck.

So for now it looks like a new Bronco pickup truck isn’t happening, but that could always change.
