More truck owners are using their trucks to tow RVs, so to make it easier to tow your RV, GMC has announced the addition of several new trailering technologies to the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 and Sierra Heavy Duty.

The 2021 Sierra gets a new Trailer Length Indicator, which uses the center console screen to show when another vehicle is in the next lane during a signal change. A new Jack-Knife Alert system alerts the driver when the trailer approaches the rear of the truck and the Rear Trailer View now has guidelines to assist when backing a trailer into place and a Trailer-Angle Indicator to show the relationship between the truck and compatible trailer. Lastly the Rear Side View split-screen now works in reverse.

GMC has also announced the debut of the HD Denali Black Diamond Edition, which adds unique 20-inch high-gloss black wheels, power-retractable assist steps, a Kicker audio system, upgraded floor mats, trailer tire-pressure monitor sensors and an Auxiliary Trailer Camera.

For diesel fans, GMC has also lowered the price of the 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel by $1,500, which means it now only costs $995 more than the Sierra 1500’s 5.3-liter V8.
