We were originally expecting the next-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee to arrive for the 2021 model year, but now it’s being reported that the current-generation Grand Cherokee will stick around for one more year. That means the next Grand Cherokee won’t arrive until the 2022 model year.

Since the current Grand Cherokee is going to return for the 2021 model year, what changes can we expect? Mopar Insiders is reporting that the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee will get new standard 18-inch silver-painted aluminum wheels. A new Sun & Sound package that adds a dual-pane panoramic sunroof and a 9-speaker Alpine 506-watt premium audio system, will also be available on the Limited and Limited X models.

There’s also rumors that a new 80th Anniversary Edition Grand Cherokee will be introduced that’s based on the Limited model.

The 2021 Grand Cherokee will have a short model year, since we’re still expecting to see the all-new 2022 Grand Cherokee later this year, which will go into production in early 2021.
