If you missed the news a few days ago, Hummer is officially back. The Hummer name is returning, but this time it will be under the GMC brand and you can forget all about those gas guzzling Hummers from the past, since this new one is fully electric.
Today GMC is giving the world a preview of the GMC Hummer EV, which is part of a 30 second spot that’s going to air during today’s Super Bowl. GMC is also using NBA star LeBron James to intro the Hummer EV.
With 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 lb-ft of wheel torque, the GMC Hummer EV can accelerate from 0-60 mph in only 3 seconds. The good news is that we don’t have to wait too long to see GMC’s new electric truck, since it’s going to officially be revealed on May 20, 2020. Sales of the 2022 GMC Hummer EV will kick off in fall 2021.
