We’re eagerly awaiting the debut of the next-generation 2020 BMW M3 (G80), but a new report claims that the new M3 will be offered in two versions: rear-wheel and all-wheel drive.
The good news is that the 2020 M3 will be offered in a “Pure” version which will send the power to the rear wheels and have a six-speed manual option. The all-wheel drive version will only be available with an automatic transmission. BMW hasn’t confirmed anything, but this latest rumor comes from Car Magazine.
The rear-wheel drive M3 will arrive with a bit less power than the all-wheel drive M3, since the manual transmission can’t handle the same amount of torque as the ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. Car Magazine also says that the M3 Pure will look a bit different than the all-wheel drive version with a different front fascia and wheels.
BMW hasn’t announced when the next-generation M3 will debut.
