Right now the Volkswagen Tiguan is only available with a 201 horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which isn’t very exciting. VW has decided to fix that for the 2026 Tiguan with the introduction of the Tiguan SEL R-Line Turbo model, which gets a nice boost of power under the hood.

The Tiguan Turbo is powered by a more powerful version of the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder that powers the rest of the Tiguan lineup. The engine generates 268 horsepower, which is a 67 hp increase, while torque increases from 07 pound-feet to 258 lb-ft. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and 4Motion all-wheel drive is standard.
