The V-12 engine has basically or is about to disappear, but Aston Martin looks intent on keeping it alive for a bit longer. Aston Martin has revealed the details about its new V-12 engine.
The twin-turbocharged 12-cylinder engine is hand built and generates 824 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. The means that the new engine is more powerful than the 5.2-liter V-12 that it will replace.
The new V-12 gets a strengthened cylinder block and conrods, redesigned cylinder heads incorporating reprofiled camshafts, plus new intake and exhaust ports. The engine also gets new higher speed, reduced inertia turbochargers.
Aston Martin hasn’t announced which model will get the new engine, other than stating that it will make its “first appearance in a new flagship model.” Could it power a new Vanquish or DBS successor? We’ll ahve to wait and see when T\tthe new V-12 powered model debuts later in 2024.
