Just like Americans’ waistlines, the redesigned 2024 GMC Acadia gets larger for 2024, with an all-new design and more passenger space.
“For this next generation, our mission was to reimagine the design and the proportions of the Acadia to create a bolder, more commanding presence, firmly in the vein of the evolving GMC portfolio,” said Ben Zavala, design lead for GMC Acadia. “With its assertive, powerful stance, the 2024 Acadia evokes a truck-inspired persona, infused with the brand’s signature premium feel.”
Part of that premium feel comes from its newfound size, as it’s now 10.6 inches longer – thanks to its 8.4-inch-longer wheelbase – as well as 4 inches taller. This reaps benefits inside, where the Acadia can ferry 7 or 8 passengers. Yet there’s 80% more cargo space behind the third row, and more than 36% additional space behind the second row compared to the 2023 GMC Acadia. Yet the 2024 model’s added size lends it a different proportion from 2023 model.
Being a new design, it comes with an improved tech package, including a customizable 15-inch vertically-oriented touchscreen with integrated Google software, an 11-inch digital instrument cluster and a host of driver-assistance safety features, including the one you really want: Super Cruise, GM’s semi-autonomous driving system.
As before, the 2024 GMC Acadia will be offered in upscale Denali or off-road AT4 trim.
Opting for the Acadia Denali nets you a cabin equipped with noise-cancelling technology, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, power-folding second- and third-row seats, laser-etched wood trim with chrome accents, and perforated leather heated and ventilated front seats. Second-row outboard heated seats and a panoramic sunroof are optional. Outside, the Acadia Denali is distinguished by 22-inch machined aluminum wheels and the signature Denali grille.
Opting for the Acadia AT4 brings with it a one-inch higher ride height, 18-inch all-terrain tires, off-road-tuned suspension with hydraulic rebound, all-wheel-drive with twin-clutch rear differentials, integrated skid plates, and tow hooks.
Regardless of trim, all 2024 GMC Acadias will be powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is optional. Towing is rated at 5,000 pounds.
GMC says that the 2024 GMC Acadia should be available in early 2024, with pricing and further trim details available closer to its on-sale date.
