Mazda has announced the updates to the 2025 CX-50 SUV, with the biggest news being the addition of the CX-50 hybrid.

The CX-50 hybrid is powered by a Toyota hybrid system, which features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, three electric motors and a CVT transmission. The powertrain generates a combined 219 horsepower and 163 pound-feet of torque and has an estimated 38 mpg combined rating, which is a 40% improvement over the CX-50 2.5 S. The CX-50 hybrid comes standard with all-wheel drive.
The hybrid models stand out from the other CX-50 models with unique wheels, a different lower front bumper and the availability of red leather seats.
The pricing for the CX-50 hybrid starts at $35,390, for the CX-50 hybrid Preferred trim level. That’s a $2,320 increase over the price of the corresponding CX-50 2.5 S Preferred.
The 2025 Mazda CX-50 hybrid will arrive in late 2024, while the other 2025 CX-50 models will arrive in August.
