Hot on the heels of the recently announced 2025 Audi A5 comes the all-new 2025 A6 E-Tron, the brand’s EV replacement for the venerable A6 line. This new A6 will go head-to-head with the likes of the BMW i5 and Mercedes-Benz EQE electric luxury sedans.

The 2025 Audi A6 E-Tron was previewed by concepts in both 2021 and 2022, with the production versions arriving featuring remarkably similar styling to those well-received concepts.

The front of the new A6 features Matrix LED lights with fancy, configurable DRLs resting atop hidden main headlight units. A closed front grille is instantly recognizable as an Audi and features the brand’s new flatter four-circle logo. The profile features smooth, flowing lines and defined rear haunches, with the back receiving second-generation OLED taillights that can also be adjusted between eight different lighting patterns, as well as a light-up Audi logo.

Base versions of the 2025 Audi A6 E-Tron Feature 19-inch aero wheels as standard, with S Line and S6 models receiving larger 20-inch alloys. Those looking for even larger wheels will be able to opt for 21-inch examples as well.

The new 2025 Audi A6 E-Tron is the most aerodynamic vehicle currently sold, not just by the Audi brand but the entire Volkswagen Auto Group. The Sportback version has a 0.21 Cd rating, with the Avant wagon ringing in at 0.24 Cd. While impressive figures and better than the BMW i5’s 0.23 Cd rating, the Meceredes-Benz EQE achieves an even more impressive 0.20 Cd rating.

Revealed in both Sportback (sedan with a hatch) and Avant (wagon) variants, the US market will only receive the Sportback when it goes on sale.

Inside, the 2025 Audi A6 E-Tron features an interior very much in line with other recently released Audi interiors. This means drivers will find a sweeping infotainment panel comprised of an 11.9-inch driver display, a 14.5-inch central touchscreen, and a 10.9-inch front passenger display. Configurable interior ambient lighting, upscale fabric inserts, and beautifully detailed seats with elaborate stitching patterns can also be found inside. European models will also find two additional screens on each side of the dash for the digital side view cameras, though these are unlikely to make it to the US market due to differing regulations.

Optional interior features for the 2025 Audi A6 E-Tron include a huge panoramic glass roof with electrochromic dimming, a 20-speaker, 830-watt Bang & Olufsen premium audio system, and a cabin fragrance system with ionizer.

The 2025 Audi A6 E-Tron is based on the brand’s PPE architecture and will be available exclusively as an EV. Buyers will be able to choose between a base RWD version with a single electric motor making 362 hp or an AWD Quattro version featuring a dual-motor setup producing 422 hp. Those looking for even more power can step up to the 2025 Audi S6 E-Tron, which features a rear-biased dual-motor AWD system producing 496 hp with the ability to briefly bump that number up to 543 hp when using launch control. The S6 is able to sprint from 0-60 mph in a scant 3.7 seconds and reach an electronically limited top speed of 149 mph.

All versions of the 2025 Audi A6 E-Tron will feature a floor-mounted battery pack with a 100 kWh capacity based on an 800v electric architecture. This architecture supports DC fast charging speeds up to 270 kW. Audi says a smaller 83 kWh battery pack will join the lineup in the future, which should bring both a smaller price and a smaller range, though it’s unclear if this smaller pack will make it to the US.

The 2025 Audi A6 E-Tron will also be available with an impressive adaptive air suspension that features an efficiency mode that automatically drops the vehicle by 0.8 inches at higher speeds.

European buyers will be able to order the new 2025 Audi A6 E-Tron beginning in September of this year, with pricing beginning at €75,600 or $81,928 USD for the A6 E-Tron and €99,500 or $107,829 USD for the S6 E-Tron.

Pricing and availability of the 2025 Audi A6 E-Tron for the US market will be released at a later date.
