We’re already in love with the 2021 Genesis G80, which is a stunning improvement over the last generation. Now we have another reason to love the new G80 – it’s more fuel efficient than its predecessor.

2021 Genesis G80

The base 2021 G80 is powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, which is slightly down from the old 3.8-liter V6 that generated 11 more hp and 18 lb-ft. of torque. The new twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 generates 375 hp and 391 lb-ft. of torque, which is a 10 hp and 15 lb-ft. improvement over the old 3.3-liter V6. The new engine with rear-wheel drive is rated at 19 mpg city, 27 mpg highway and 21 mpg combined. That’s an improvement over the old engine that was rated at 17/25/20 mpg. If you’re wondering about the old 5.0-liter V8, it’s been dropped from the lineup.
