Ever since the Tesla Model S came on to the market in 2012, it’s been the poster child for electric cars – everyone wants one and almost every automaker wants to beat it. The Model S proved that electric cars can be livable, fun and luxurious. Since then, several automakers have talked about knocking the Model S from its pedestal, but none have yet to deliver – but that could soon change in the next few years. For now the Model S is the benchmark for all electric cars.
