The fun Kia Soul has been one of Kia’s best-selling models for years. Its combination of youthful styling, its the crossover-like driving position and great value, plus the fun hamster marketing have put it at the top of many buyers’ lists. The last time that I tested the Soul, I loved almost everything about it, but wished it had one thing – more hamsters under the hood. The Soul needed more power and now Kia has answered that with the addition of the new Soul Turbo, yup a turbocharged Soul is finally available. Here are five reasons why the 2017 Kia Soul Turbo should or shouldn’t be on your list:

3Is it worth it?

The Soul Turbo starts $3k over the 2.0L model and a whopping $6,700 more than the base Soul. With a base price just under $23k, is the Soul Turbo worth it? Most buyers will probably choose the 2.0L model, since it lands directly in the middle of all three versions, but the extra price for the Soul Turbo does come with a few other nice standard features, like 18-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen display and cloth/ leather seats. If you add some of those features on the 2.0L Soul, the price difference becomes smaller between the 2.0L and Soul Turbo. At the end of the day if you can win the $23k price tag, the Soul Turbo is worth every penny based on its long list of standard features, plus the fun turbocharged engine.
